My review and thoughts on Your Farm
This is a fun bedtime board book. This is the sun, it is here for you, and this is a tree that can go by the sun, and here’s a barn , it can go by the sun and tree. The pages of this board book which I’m reviewing as part of the Your Places box set is filled with matt board pages of some fun illustrations and text, and has some lovely rounded corners.

This is similar to the other books in the series, Your Island and Your Forest. The book starts by showing you the sun and telling you it’s here for you, and then the next double page introduces a tree, saying it can go by the sun, in the next double page you’ll see the tree and sun in an image on the left while you are introduced to yet another object on the right. The simple text and images builds up, object by object, to show an image of a farm until eventually all the farm objects are in place and the sun goes down, encouraging the reader to go to sleep.

I’ve always enjoyed Jon Klassen’s illustration style and this book is filled with those fun images with those classic eyes. I like the way the different objects look, those faces with those eyes, the way they look at each other as new objects are added, especially the horse! I love the way the simple text eventually builds to the sun going down and has a lovely image at the end of the farm at night. The book is a great and simple bedtime read, encouranging young kids to go to sleep in a simple and fun way.
